December 11, 2021 – The State Court Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Parish Center, 145 Holliston Street, Medway, MA 02053. Join us for a delicious buffet luncheon catered by Oliva’s of Milford, Basket raffle, Group Photo, Christmas Karaoke and CDA sisterhood! The cost is $30.00. December 8, 2018:  Save the Date!  Women Affirming Life is holding its annual Mass and Breakfast at the Norwood Four Points Sheraton from 8:30 - 11:00.  This year's theme "The Pro Life Movement:  Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow" presentation given by special guest speaker Professor Mary Ann Glendon.  This even is co-sponsored by Women Affirming Life and the Pro Life Office of the Archdiocese of Boston.  Tables of 10 are available for $300.  For further information contact ProLifeOffice@rcab.org    or   call  508-651-1900.

October 20, 2018: The MA State Board is sponsoring a Leadership Workshop on Saturday, October 20th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at St. Columbkille School in Brighton.  We encourage as many members as possible to attend. There's something for everyone: spirituality, education, information and of course some fun time.  Court officers are strongly urged to attend, particularly those who are new to their elected office.  It's a great chance to meet and interact with your CDA sisters; network, share ideas, learn something new and have fun along the way.  For details, click for flyer.

October 13, 2018:  Sisters of Saint Joseph send a "Save the Date" for the 9th Annual Symposium on the Impact of Social Media on Human Trafficking.  Registration at 9AM, presentation 9:30-12:30 at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 637 Cambridge Street, Brighton.  Sponsored by The Anti-Trafficking Coalition [ATC] of the Boston Unit of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious [LCWR] is committed to raising awareness and inspiring action that will stop the demand for human trafficking in our neighborhoods and our world.  Click for flyer to share with others.

Sunday, December 4, 2016 - Massachusetts State Court invites you to attend the Annual Christmas Luncheon at Lombardo's, 6 Billings Street, Randolph at 11:30am.  This year's theme is "Angels we have heard on high".  Cost:  $45/person.  Registration deadline: November 26th.  No refunds after November 28th.  Make checks payable to Mass State CDA.  To register, send your check to Judi Shooter, 2 Lester Road, Danvers, MA  01923, call Judi at 978-774-4158 (if you get answering machine, leave your name and court), or email at jhobbs1@aol.com .  Your served dinner includes garden salad, slow-roasted stuffed breast of chicken, red bliss smashed potato, petite carrots and green beans, lemon curd and cream cake, coffee and tea.  YUM!  Cash bar will be available.  Entertainment by Kathy on the Keys and raffles will add to our Christmas Celebration.  All courts re asked to bring a raffle item with approximate value of $25 for the table.  

 

October 30, 2016 - SAVE THE DATE!  The Massachusetts State Court will be celebrating their 100th anniversary on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main Street, Bradford, MA. The Anniversary Dinner celebration will follow at DiBurro’s Function Facility, 887 Boston Rd., located off Route 125, Bradford, MA. Your State Board is in the process of making plans to celebrate this special occasion.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2016 - CDA101 Please join us at Holy Cross Family Ministries, 518 Washington Street, North Easton for a day of prayer and learning. The day begins with 9AM registration, 9:30 Mass, 11AM presentation by Lynnel Cox of Hand Delivered Hope, 12:15 lunch raffles, and gift shop, 1:15 workshops, 2:15 sharing of ideas, 3:00 raffle drawing and closing by 3:15.   July 20-24, 2016 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the site of our National Convention. This should be a wonderful convention filled with many events as planned by the State Court of Pennsylvania and our National Court. Delegate and Alternate election forms have been mailed. Please follow procedures for electing your representatives and return the form to the National office along with a copy to the State Regent and a copy for your files. If no one from your Court will be attending the same procedure must be followed with a completed form being returned. Delegate and Alternate forms must be returned to the National Office and State Regent. The March mailing of the National Newsletter has all the necessary paperwork for those who will be attending the Convention and the information is also available on the CDA National website. All resolutions that are submitted to the National Chairman must be postmarked by May 1st.  Remember to send National's meal reservation form and check to Linda Coletti.  Tour reservation forms with court checks are sent directly to National.  State Dinner night reservations and checks go to 1st Vice State Regent Patricia Abruzese-Johnston.  Click flyer for details.

 Friday, January 25, 2013 - March for Life, Washington DC.  This year IPSR Linda Coletti will be joined by State Secretary Maureen Trainor and 2nd Vice State Regent Patricia Abruzese-Johnston.

 

February 18, 2012 - State Chaplain Fr. Kevin invites all to see Ronan Tynan in concert at Holy Cross Cathedral, 1400 Washington Street, Boston, 7PM.  Tynan is called the modern day renaissance man whose songs are traditional, Irish, Religious and Classical.  Tickets: $15 for CDA members only.  Tickets may be purchased at the door (doors open at 6PM) or by calling Holy Cross Cathedral at 617-542-5682.  The church is handicap accessible. 

I have an idea - I'm thinking 40 acts of kindness in 40 days.  We all, as CDA ladies do such things in the normal course of our lives, but let's each of us challenge one another to go the extra mile in these days of Lent.  I am thinking small, nothing heroic, but nonetheless meaningful and stretching.  Say an extra Rosary, call a friend, spend time in adoration of the Sacred Heart, make the Stations of the Cross, visit a shut-in, let someone pass in front of you even when you are in a hurry. say a special prayer for the person that says "I just don't have time to attend a service to get Ashes" (how sad for her - I heard this on the radio this AM), provide a meal for a neighbor (you can buy it), donate to a cause you never considered, smile at a stranger in public, offer a compliment - it may be the only one that person receives that day, tell someone how much their prescence in your life means to you (we all like to be appreciated) ......you get the picture.   The key is to have this foremost in your mind so you never forget to "pay it forward".  If you are up to the challenge, you are on the clock starting now.  Remember, only ONE extra kindness/day, but who's counting!  Need a form to keep you on track?  Click here

Sullivan, director of Ethics at Covenant Health Systems in Lexington, present information on the Death with Dignity Act.  She is an extremely passionate and knoweldgeable speaker - you won't want to miss.  9:30 Rosary, 10:00 Mass of Gratitude with celebrant Fr.
